During Christmas to New year vacation we thought we would fab up a nice prerunner for DA VAN. A few HID's and powdercoating and it should look great keep checking back for more progress on this project. |

THE NEWEST ADDITION TO RMS OFF-ROAD INC. BRAND NEW E350 VAN WITH CUSTOM 4 LINK SUSPENSION RUNNING 36X15.50R20 M/T MTZ ON 20X12 KMC ROCKSTARS. WE DID THIS CONVERSION FROM SCRATCH, AND DID NOT ORDER A QUIGLEY CONVERSION. WE WERE NOT VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE QUIGLEY SO INSTEAD WE ORDERED A BONE STOCK E350 AND DID OUR PLANNING. WE INSTALLED A F550 2WD FRONTEND AND CONVERTED IT FROM A 10 LUG 225MM TO A STANDARD FORD 8 LUG 170MM. THIS WAS A VERY EXPENSIVE AND DIFFICULT CONVERSION TO WORK OUT BUT NEEDED TO BE DONE IN ORDER TO RUN THE WHEELS YOU SEE. WE MACHINED OUR OWN PITMAN ARM AND FABRICATED ALL THE 4 LINK ARMS AND BRACKETS. AS ALWAYS WE TAKE THE TIME TO BUILD THE COMPONENTS AROUND THE TRUCK AND USE AS MANY FACTORY FORD PARTS AS POSSIBLE. WE OPTIONED FOR A 2WD VERSION AT THIS TIME UNTILL WE DECIDE WHAT WE WILL DO WITH THE FUEL TANK ISSUE. QUIGLEY CUTS THE STOCK FUEL TANK BY NEARLY 10 FULL GALLONS, THAT WAS NOT AN OPTION FOR US, SEEING THAT WE WILL BE USING THE VAN FOR PULLING HAULLING AND CHASING. INSTEAD WE DECIDED THAT UNTIL WE CAN ADD ANOTHER FUEL TANK WE WOULD OPT FOR A SICK 2WD WITH MASSIVE WHEEL TRAVEL. HOWEVER WHEN AND IF WE DO DECIDE TO CONVERT TO 4WD ALL OF THE WORK WE PERFORMED WILL ALLOW A 4WD FRONTEND TO JUST BE BOLTED RIGHT IN. THATS WHAT WE MEAN BY PLANNING. GET THE WHOLE BREAKDOWN. |
